KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan Track & Field team wrapped up hosting the 2022 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Trakc & Field Championship on Saturday at Kanley Track Complex, scoring in five events.
The Broncos combined to finish with 19 points to take 11th. Akron won the women's title, while Kent State won the men's.
Senior thrower
Madison Ochs got the Broncos on the board early with a sixth-place finish in the discus. Ochs threw 153' 9" (46.88m) to earn three points for the team.
Sophomores
Trinity Bracey,
Sarinity Bracey,
Grace Johnson and freshman Azaria McGee-Grantham combined to run a time of 46.37 seconds, their fastest time of the season, to take sixth place in the 4x100-meter relay.
Johnson went on to take fourth place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.70 seconds to earn five points and match senior
Brittney Hall as the team's highest finisher on the weekend, with Hall taking fourth in the 10,000-meter run on Thursday.
Sarinity Bracey just missed out on scoring, finishing in ninth place.
McGee-Grantham picked up two points for the Broncos with a seventh place finish in the 100-meter dash, running a time of 11.94 seconds.
The same group capped off the MAC Championship with an eighth place finish in the 4x400-meter run with a time of 3:51.71.
