KANSAS CITY, Mo., -- Western Michigan football center Mike Calinedo has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Caliendo was a two-time First Team All-Mid-American Conference selection and earned second team honors back in 2019. The graduate-student was also a five-time Academic All-MAC selection, a five-time MAC Distinguished Scholar and was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American.

Caliendo played both guard and center in his career with the Broncos, helping lead the offense to a top-10 national ranking in points per game (41.7) and 16th in total offense (479.7) in 2020. This past season he was a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, college football's premier scholar-athlete award that annually recognizes and individual as the absolute best in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership. He was also a semifinalist for the Wuerffell Trophy.
