KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan football team has announced its 2026 schedule, featuring six home games at Stafford-Smith Field at Waldo Stadium.
The reigning Mid-American Conference Champions open up the season on the road at Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 5. WMU then welcomes Monmouth on Saturday, Sept. 12 for the annual CommUniverCity game. The Broncos head to Rice on Saturday, Sept. 19 before wrapping up non-conference play hosting Boise State on Saturday, Sept. 26. The 2016 MAC Championship/Cotton Bowl team will be honored during the game against BSU. The game also serves as the annual Buster's Tailgate Concert.
Western Michigan opens MAC play with three of its first four games on the road. WMU kicks things off at Buffalo on Saturday, Oct. 3. WMU then hosts Kent State on Saturday Oct. 10 for Homecoming/Hall of Fame Weekend. The Battle for the Victory Cannon takes place on Saturday, Oct. 17 in Mount Pleasant this season, with the Broncos staying on the road the following week to visit Toledo on Saturday, Oct. 24. The Broncos close out October, hosting Bowling Green on Halloween for Family Weekend.
The Broncos open mid-week #MACtion on the road at Akron on Tuesday, Nov. 10. Eastern Michigan comes to Kalamazoo on Tuesday, Nov. 17 before Western Michigan closes out the regular season at home in a rematch of the 2025 MAC Championship game, hosting Miami on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
