Golf Travels to Jacksonville for the Don Benbow Invitational

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan golf team returns to Florida for the 2022 Don Benbow Invitational, hosted by Butler, on Monday and Tuesday at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.

The Broncos are one of 14 women's teams competing, joining Eastern Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Evansville, Indiana State, IUPUI, Monmouth, Purdue Fort Wayne, Radford, Savannah State, Troy, Valparaiso, Western Illinois and the host Bulldogs. The Jacksonville Beach Golf Club course measures out to 5,913 yards and is a par 71. The tournament will consist of one round each on Monday and Tuesday.
 
WMU is coming off of hosting the 19th annual Rio Verde Invitational last weekend. The team finished tied for 14th and were led by Brooke Gibbons, who finished with a 234 (+18) and tied for 47th. It was the first time the senior was WMU's top finisher in a tournament this season, snapping Alissa Fish's streak of five straight.
 
Western Michigan takes a couple weeks off before taking part in the Diane Daugherty Invitational, hosted by Southern Illinois in Saint Charles, Mo., March 28-29.
