Golf Finishes 2-2 at the Mid-American Match Play Challenge

BRADENTON, Fla. – The Western Michigan golf team went 1-1 to close out the final day of competition at the Mid-American Match Play Challenge, picking up a win over Bowling Green and falling to Morehead State on Tuesday.

The Broncos opened the day against the eight-seeded host Bowling Green Falcons, winning 3-2-0. Freshman Allyson Barth picked up her second individual win over the weekend, finishing 2UP on Mallory Swartz. Senior Fiona Khaing finished 1UP on BGSU's Alyson Kovach, while junior Alissa Fish earned a win over Nichole Cox, 5&4. Also competing in the match was Brooke Gibbons and Imogen Courtney, both falling 4&3 to their opponents.

In the afternoon, WMU drew sixth-seeded Eagles, falling 4-1-0. Courtney was the lone winner for the Broncos, downing Olivia Hensley 2&1.

The Broncos head back Kalamazoo for a few weeks before heading to their home away from home, Rio Verde, Ariz., to host the annual Rio Verde Invitational Feb. 25-27 at Rio Verde Country Club.
