WMU Softball Announces 2023 Schedule

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan softball program and head coach Jenny Rohn announced the team's 2023 spring schedule on Friday. The Broncos are set to play 52 games, 17 of which will be home games at Ebert Field. 
  
Western Michigan begins the season from February 10-12 at the Best on the Bayou Tournament down in Monroe, La. WMU opens the campaign with Lindenwood and ULM on February 10, follows that up with contests against Houston Christian and ULM the next day, and then closes out the weekend with another game against Lindenwood. 
 
From February 24-26, WMU is headed down to Chattanooga, Tenn., to take part in the Frost Classic. The Broncos face both UNLV and Eastern Illinois on the first day, followed by SEMO and Memphis on the second, before wrapping up their trip against the hosts, Chattanooga, on February 26. 
 
The Broncos head back down south the following weekend for a three-game series against North Alabama from March 4-5. On March 7, Western Michigan will take on Alabama. 
 
WMU's final tune-up before conference play will be at the 2023 JSU Gamecock Invite from March 10-12. The Broncos open the weekend against the host, Jacksonville State. WMU then plays Samford and Jacksonville State on March 11, with a single game against Samford on the final day of the trip. 
 
On March 17 and 18, Western Michigan begins its home slate and MAC play with a three-game series against Buffalo. 
 
Following the Buffalo series, WMU visits Notre Dame on March 22 and Bowling Green on March 28 and 29. The Broncos return to Kalamazoo to face Miami on April 1 and 2 and Purdue Fort Wayne on April 4.
 
Western Michigan heads to Akron from April 7-8, with Ball State then coming to Kalamazoo from April 11-12. The Broncos have a pair of in-state opponents back-to-back, as they go to Mount Pleasant to face Central Michigan from April 15-16 and then host Oakland on April 19.
 
Kent State comes to Kalamazoo from April 21-22, with WMU then heading to Northern Illinois on April 25 and 26. Western Michigan wraps up the month and its 2023 home slate on April 29 and 30 against Ohio with Senior Day on the 29th and Alumni Day the 30th. 
 
WMU hits the road to wrap up the regular season as it heads to Ann Arbor to face Michigan on May 2 and then concludes the regular season at Toledo on May 5 and 6.

The 2023 Mid-American Conference Tournament will be held from May 11-13 at the campus of the top seed.
