Men's Tennis Finishes Second Day of Redbird Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team wrapped up the second day of competition at the Redbird Invitational, hosted by Illinois State, on Saturday.

WMU opened the tournament with a pair of doubles losses. Fynn Lohse and Jackson Boon fell to Illinois-Chicago's pair of Strandberg and Schwebel, 8-6. Eastern Illinois Slabbert and Dinkov made quick work of Arjun Honnappa and Ferdinand Schlueter, 8-0. Both rebounded in singles play with wins against their EIU counterparts. Honnappa beat Dinkov 6-2, 6-2 and Schlueter won in three sets over Slabbert 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-8).

On Saturday Lohse and Boone picked up their first doubles win of the weekend with an 8-0 victory over Bellarmine's Tang and Reynolds. Boone was the lone Bronco to win in singles play, with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Reynolds.

Western Michigan finishes up action on Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m. ET.
