On Saturday the Seawolves took a 1-0 lead with a goal at 13:37 in the first period, but Jamie Rome responded on the power play less than a minute later to tie it up. UAA took a 2-1 lead in the second period during a 5-on-3 power play and then added to the lead just 1:41 into the third period.

On Sunday the Broncos struck first with another power play goal, this time Jason Polin putting it in the net at 5:53 in the second period. Anchorage responded with a power play goal of its own to send the game into the third period tied up at 1-1. WMU scored three unanswered in the third period to pick up its first win of the season. The first came by sophomore Dylan Wendt at 5:37, getting set up by Hugh Larkin and Jack Perbix. Minutes later Tim Washe finished off a feed from Oliver MacDonald to push the lead to 3-1. Wendt returned the favor to Larkin on a two-on-one rush, with the junior forward tallying his first goal of the season.

LOTS OF FIRSTS
Transfers Carter Berger, Oliver MacDonald and Perbix picked up their first points as Broncos in the series up in Alaska. Berger assisted on WMU's lone goal in Saturday's game and then assisted again on the power play in the team's opening goal in Sunday's win. MacDonald and Perbix both set up goals in Sunday's win. Redshirt freshman Kirk Laursen made 10 saves in his first collegiate start in goal to earn the win. Freshman Ryan McAllister also had an assist in each of the games to get his career point total off to a strong start.

Also making Bronco debuts were senior transfer Zak Galambos, junior transfer Cameron Rowe and freshman Ethan Wolthers.
