For WMU to advance to the Mid-American Conference Tournament it needs to win against the Rockets and have one of the three teams ahead of it in the standings lose. Those three are Ohio, Miami and Kent State. The Bobcats play at Akron, Miami hosts Eastern Michigan and Kent State hosts MAC-leaders Buffalo. With a Bronco win and a loss of any of the three, WMU would move up into the top six, advancing to Sunday's MAC Quarterfinals.
The Broncos split last weekend with a 3-1 win over Akron at home and a 3-2 loss at OU. Minnesota transfer
Jaden Peck scored her first two collegiate goals in last week's action. Against the Zips she gave WMU a very early 1-0 lead and followed it up with the team's first goal of the game at Ohio, cutting the Bobcats' lead to 2-1 in the second half.
Jenna Blackburn also scored a goal in each game to extend her point streak to three games. Her two goals moved her into a tie with Regan Wisser for the most on the squad with five.
SCOUTING THE ROCKETS
Toledo (2-9-6, 1-5-4 MAC) has been eliminated from postseason play and currently sits 10th in the standings. The Rockets dropped a 4-1 decision at home against Ohio and then fell 5-0 against Akron on Sunday. UT's last win came on Oct. 13 at Eastern Michigan, 2-1.
As a team, Toledo has scored 20 goals in 17 games this season. Graduate transfer and former Bronco
Morgan Otteson has 10 of them. Mia Leonetti and Madison Medalle also each have three. Karson Hill has played the majority of the minutes in net, with an 1-8–5 record, 87 total saves, 43 goals allowed and one shutout.
ON THE HORIZON
Should the Broncos make the MAC Tournament, time, location and date for the MAC Quarterfinals will be announced Thursday evening.
