Daniel Nimick Named to Men's National Team of the Week and MAC Player of the Week

CLEVELAND – Western Michigan men's soccer senior defender Daniel Nimick has been named to CollegeSoccerNews Men's National Team of the Week and Mid-American Conference player of the week.

Nimick sent a header into the back of the frame out of a corner kick served in by midfielder Eric Conerty in Western Michigan's 3-0 win over Oakland while also putting in a solid 90-minute performance on the defensive side of the ball. He also scored from within the box after making a move to create the angle he needed to place a shot into the back of the frame in Western Michigan's subsequent 2-0 win over Wright State while again putting in a full 90-minutes of play on the defensive side of the ball. The Broncos improve to 11-2-1 with a 3-1-1 mark in MAC play after its two shutout wins last week, making 10 total shutouts for WMU this season.

Nimick is among the team leaders with 11 points: five goals, two game-winning, one assist, and 11-15 for shots on goal.

They Broncos return to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 29 with a match on the road against Chicago State at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed on FloFC.
