KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis heads out on the road to take on the University of Michigan on Friday at 6 p.m.
WMU had a match scheduled at Notre Dame for Wednesday, Jan. 19 has been postponed due to COVID-19 issues with the Fighting Irish. It has been rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 18 at 4 p.m.
This is WMU's first trip to Michigan came on Feb. 1, 2020, falling to the Wolverines 4-2. UM holds the all-time series lead at 56-8. The Wolverines are 1-0 in dual matches so far this season, picking up a 5-2 home win over Virginia Tech last Sunday.
The Broncos opened the dual match season last Saturday, claiming a pair of 6-1 victories over Butler and Ferris State. Anton Arzhankin, Jackson Boone, Fynn Lohse and Brogan Pierce all started their second-halves of the season off going 2-0 in singles action. Lohse and junior Arjun Honnappa were the lone doubles pair to go undefeated on Saturday.
Western Michigan heads on the road to the University of Tennessee next weekend to for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Kickoff Weekend. The Broncos will open against Memphis next Friday before facing Tennessee or Old Dominion on Saturday.
