Men's Soccer Travels to St. Thomas

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's soccer team heads on the road to take on St. Thomas on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Tuesday is the final non-conference road game this season for the Broncos (2-3-3, 0-0-0 MAC), who have seven of their next 10 games at the WMU Soccer Complex.

SCOUTING THE TOMMIES
St. Thomas is just in its first season as a Division I program, having competed at the Division III level in prior seasons. The Tommies enter Tuesday with an 0-8-1 record on the season, with their lone tie coming against Wisconsin Green Bay back on Sept. 15.

UST has scored just three goals on the season, with Wes Lorrens, George Marty and Caden McLagan all finding the net. Three different goalkeepers have seen action this season with Tucker Mann getting five starts, making 24 saves to lead the team.

ROAD WOES
The Broncos are still looking for their first road win of the season with an 0-3-1 record away from the WMU Soccer Complex. The tie came in WMU's third game of the season, a 0-0 outcome at Wisconsin back on Sept. 2.  WMU has scored three goals in its four road games.

STINGY DEFENSE
Western Michigan has given up just three goals in its last six games. The team has recorded three shutouts and given up one goal three times. Junior Goalkeeper Isaac Walker has started and played in all six of those games. He ranks 12th in the nation in save percentage at .857 and 10th in the nation in goals against average at 0.45.  

HOME SWEET HOME
Western Michigan returns to action this Saturday to open Mid-American Conference play against Northern Illinois at 12 p.m. Prior to the start of the match the Broncos will honor their senior class.
