Fish Takes Seventh at Ball State Cardinal Classic

YORKTOWN, Ind. – Western Michigan junior Alissa Fish claimed her first top-10 finish of the season, taking seventh place at the Ball State Cardinal Classic at The Players Club on Tuesday.
 
Fish was tied in eight-place heading into the final round and shot a season-low of 73 to move up one spot, finishing with a 54-hole total of 225 (+9). She led the team with seven birdies and finished with 31 pars.
 
Western Michigan finished in ninth place overall, shooting a 314 on the final day for a 54-hole total of 933 (+69). Akron won the tournament with a 912 (+48).
 
Junior Imogen Courtney finished tied for 27th overall after shooting a 77 for a total of 232 (+16) as WMU's second finisher. Fiona Khaing shot a final round of 85 to finish with a 238 (+22), while Allyson Barth was the Broncos' fourth finisher after an 82 gave her a 54-total of 241 (+25). Senior Cameryn Lucia rounded out WMU's top five with a 254 (+38).
 
Western Michigan returns to action on Oct. 4-5 at the annual Shirley Spork Invitational hosted by Eastern Michigan. The opening round begins at 9 a.m.
