KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's soccer team wraps up its non-conference schedule, traveling on the road to take on the Butler Bulldogs on Thursday at 7 p.m.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Butler (6-1) enters Thursday evening's contest with the Broncos red hot coming off of six straight wins. Most recently, the Bulldogs took on fellow MAC opponent Ball State, where Butler dominated in a 3-0 shutout win. Redshirt sophomore forward Abigail Isger got things started for Butler when she scored off of a corner kick in the sixth minute of play.
Isger's goal was followed by another score from junior forward Gretchen Skoglund in the 24th minute off of an assist from redshirt junior forward Anastasia Savich. The Bulldogs scoring was capped off in the 56th minute via a penalty kick from redshirt junior midfielder Katie Soderstrom, who also leads Butler in scoring this season, tallying five total goals so far.
BRONCOS AIM TO GET BACK ON TRACK
The Broncos come into Thursday off of a couple of tough outings against No. 24 USC and Indiana. The WMU was shutout against No.24 USC, tallying six total shots with two shots on goal.
In the battle at Indiana, senior goalkeeper Maggie Rogers tallied seven saves to keep the Broncos within striking distance. The Broncos fell by a 2-1 deficit, with their score coming from fifth-year forward and team scoring leader Bailey Korhorn in the 42nd minute. Korhorn's goal came off of an assist from fellow fifth-year forward Hannah Redoute.

Western Michigan opens MAC play hosting the defending champions Bowling Green at the WMU Soccer Complex next Thursday at 4 p.m. The game can be seen live on Bronco All-Access.
