KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team and head coach
Ryan Tomlinson have announced the addition of Kiana Rizzolo, a transfer from Elon University.
Rizzolo, a native of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., comes to WMU as a junior after two seasons with the Phoenix. She posted an 8-7 record in singles as a freshman, also going 4-2 in doubles play. Last season she was 2-1 in singles and 2-2 in doubles, while earning Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete honors both seasons.
"I couldn't be more excited about the addition of Kiana to the Bronco tennis family," said Tomlinson. "She will add experience to our team and make an immediate impact in our lineup. She is a tremendous student in the classroom and a tireless worker on the court. We look forward to her arrival on campus where we can get to work."
Prior to her time at Elon she won three national USTA Doubles titles and was a singles finalist at two USTA sectionals. She was a back-to-back ITF doubles winner at Copa Mangu and Copa Manguilla and made it to the semifinals in the singles competition. She graduated from Laurel Springs high school in 2019.
