KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team had 10 student-athletes earn American Hockey Coaches Association Krampade All-American Scholar honors for the 2020-21 season.
Kale Bennett,
Trevor Bishop,
Aidan Fulp,
Ty Glover,
Daniel Hilsendager,
Jared Kucharek,
Jason Polin,
Brett Van Os,
Jarred White and
Drew Worrad all earned the honors. Bennett, Kucharek, Polin and Worrad are all repeat honors. Bennett, who was also named the NCHC Scholar Athlete of the Year and awarded the NCHC's Post-Graduate Scholarship award earns the honors for the fourth time in his career. Freshmen Bishop, Fulp, Glover, Hilsendager and White all earn it for the first time in their careers.
The 10 Broncos are new program record, surpassing the previous best of six set back in 2018 and matched in 2020.
Due to the effects of Covid-19, the AHCA adopted revised criteria for this year's honorees. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.6 GPA for each semester, regardless of whether the school's hockey team was able to play this season or not.
