OXFORD, Ohio – The Western Michigan track and field team wrapped up the final day of competition at the 2021 Outdoor Mid-American Conference Championships, scoring in three more events on the weekend.
Senior
Brittney Hall was once again WMU's highest finisher on the day. After taking fourth in the 10,000-meter run yesterday she finished in third place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:45.17. The time was a new personal-best for the Macomb, Mich., native. Hall was responsible for 11 of WMU's 24 points. The Broncos finished in 12th place as a team. Kent State won the MAC Championship with 102 points.
Senior
Aniya Davis scored in the discus throw after taking fourth place to earn five points. Davis, who took fifth place in the hammer throw on Friday, tossed a distance of 167' (50.91m).
Western Michigan also picked up points in the 800-meter run. Senior
Juliane Sormain ran a personal-best time of 2:10.18 to take fifth place in her final MAC Championship of her career.
The Broncos head to Toledo next Saturday for the Toledo Rocket Last Chance Meet for one final opportunity to qualify for the NCAA East Preliminary Championships on May 27-29 in Jacksonville, Fla.
