Indianapolis, Ind. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team heads to the University of Illinois to take on Notre Dame on Friday in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament.

The Broncos earned the berth to the NCAA Tournament, the team's 14th in program history, after winning the Mid-American Conference Regular Season Championship. WMU secured the title back on Saturday, April 24 in a 4-3 win over Northern Illinois. Western Michigan finished conference play with a perfect 9-0 record.
Overall the Broncos are 22-1 on the season with their lone loss coming at the hands of the Fighting Irish, 5-2, back on Feb. 13. WMU and UND have met once before in the NCAA Tournament with Notre Dame defeating Western Michigan in the first round back in 2018, 4-1, at the University of Michigan.
The Fighting Irish finished with a 14-10 overall record on the season and tied for fifth place in the ACC standings. UND fell to Florida State in the first round of the ACC Tournament, 4-3.
The winner between WMU and UND will take on the winner of DePaul and regional host Illinois.
