Men's Tennis Heads Into 2026 WIth Two Nationally Ranked Doubles Teams

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team opens the 2026 portion of its season with two doubles teams nationally ranked by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Junior Drew Evans and graduate transfer Tim Riedel are 64th in the nation. The duo went 8-2 in the fall, winning the Mid-American Conference Indoor Qualifying Event Doubles A title and earning a spot in the ITA Conference Masters Tournament. At the Conference Masters, the pair picked up a win in the Round of 32 over Dayton's Dylan Jaen and Mikkel Zinder. Their run came to an end after a loss to Middle Tennessee State's Ondrej Horak and Karim Al-Amin.

Sophomores Oscar Corwin and Alexander Antonopoulos are sitting at 80. The pair went 7-1 in the fall.

Western Michigan opens up its dual-match season on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at Michigan State with a 5 p.m. first serve. The Broncos are at home later that week on Friday for a double-header against Grand Valley State and Chicago State and then host Wayne State on Saturday at 1 p.m. Admission to all WMU men's tennis home matches is free.
