Hall Runs MAC's Fastest 5,000-meter Run Time at the Jim Duncan Invitational

DES MOINES, Iowa – Senior distance runner Brittney Hall ran the Mid-American Conference's fastest 5,000-meter run time to highlight the Western Michigan Track & Field team's day at the Jim Duncan Invitational at Drake University on Friday.

Hall ran a time of 16:55.96, a new personal best, to take third overall in the event. Pailsey Sipes turned in a top 10 performance after taking ninth with a time of 18:42.86.

"Brittney ran a fantastic 5,000 race and has more in the tank," said head coach Makiba Batten. "It's always a great opportunity to run at Drake Stadium. The weather was a bit cooler but was perfect for our distance squad. We had some nice improvements all around from this group."

Sophomore Annalise James took fourth overall in the 1,500-meter run after finishing with a time of 4:50.06. The Broncos had two finishers in the top 10 of the 800-meter run, with Courtney Allen taking sixth with a time of 2:23.39 and Emma Pachay in 10th at 2:30.97. Sophomore Mary Raclawski took eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.55.

The Broncos are back in action next week at the Grand Valley State Al Owens Classic on Friday and Saturday.
