Scouting the Broncos
Western Michigan enters the weekend on a four-game win streak after sweeping Akron last weekend at home. Riding the four-game win streak the Broncos have an overall record of 7-11 and 7-5 in conference play.
Pivotal Series
WMU looks to win its first series over Miami since taking two of three from the RedHawks back in 2017.
Got the Bats Going At Home
Last weekend against Akron, Western Michigan hit a staggering .423 and scored 33 runs on 47 hits with a team on-base percentage of .507. WMU at the plate had six doubles over the weekend to go along with four home runs and a .586 slugging percentage.
Petersen Named MAC Pitcher of the Week
In his first career start senior LHP
Brandon Petersen earned MAC Pitcher of the Week honors. Petersen in seven innings allowed just one hit and struck out a career-high 12 Akron batters.

The Broncos rank second in the MAC with a .275 batting average and rank third in the conference with 37 doubles.
All Around Game
WMU is one of just two schools in the MAC to rank in the top five in the conference in batting average (2nd - .275) and ERA (4th – 4.68).

Senior RHP
Will Mullen has been dominant out of the bullpen for the Broncos posting a 1-0 record with a 2.25 ERA in 20.0 innings of work. Mullen's 2.25 ERA is the fifth lowest in the MAC.
Scouting the Competition
Miami enters the weekend at the top of the MAC with an overall record of 17-9 and conference record of 10-2. The RedHawks have won four straight after sweeping Eastern Michigan on the road last weekend. Miami ranks seventh in the MAC in hitting (.257) but leads the MAC on the mound with a 3.09 ERA.
Offensively the RedHawks are led by Nate Stone who leads the team in batting average (.356), runs scored (22), home runs (3) and RBI (21). On the mound Miami is led the trio of Sam Bachman, Jacob Webb and Logan Schmitt who each have an ERA under 2.00. Bachman leads the pitching staff registering a 2-0 record a 0.90 ERA in five starts this season.
