KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's soccer team closes out the 2020-21 regular season this Thursday and Sunday. The Broncos host the Chippewas on Thursday at 4 p.m. and then head to Toledo on Sunday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.

LAST WEEK
WMU snapped a four-game winless streak with a 2-1 win over Northern Illinois last Thursday and followed it up with a 2-0 victory over Ball State on Sunday.
Morgan Otteson set up both of
Bailey Korhorn's goals as WMU downed NIU. She then went on to assist on both goals scored by
Emily Dahl and
Hannah Redoute as the Broncos earned their first victory against the Cardinals since October 2015.
COMPLETE SWEEP
WMU's
Emily Dahl and
Morgan Otteson swept the MAC West Division weekly awards with Dahl earning Defensive Player of the Week and Otteson earning Offensive Player of the Week for their performances in WMU's wins over NIU and BSU.
Dahl tallied her first collegiate goal, the game-winner, against the Cardinals after kicking in a headed pass from Otteson off of a corner kick. She then provided the service on
Hannah Redoute's goal to seal the win, picking up the secondary assist, while helping the team earn its fourth shutout of the season. Otteson had the primary assist on every scored in the two victories, notching four on the week.
SCOUTING THE CHIPPEWAS
Central Michigan is 4-3 on the season but enters Thursday's game on a two-game losing streak. CMU lost at Ball State and at home against Eastern Michigan last Thursday before having a home contest against Toledo canceled due to COVID-19 issues within the Rockets program.
Natalie Belsito leads the team with eight points on three goals and a two assists, both team-highs. Amanda Britain and Samantha Kaye-Toral both have two goals on the season, while four other Chippewas each have scored once. Allison Lapoint has played every minute in goal for CMU, posting two shutouts and 22 total saves, while allowing 0.97 goals per game.
SCOUTING THE ROCKETS
Toledo won its last game, a 2-0 victory at Northern Illinois, but had its next three games postponed due to COVID-19 issues. That win over NIU was back on March 28.
Stephanie Currie and Brooke Stonehouse lead the team with two goals, while Ellie Pool and Ashton Cassel each have a team-high two assists. Emma Boutorwick has played every minute in goal with a one shutout and 20 total saves on the season.
