TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Western Michigan golf team wrapped up the Indian State Invitational at the Country Club of Terre Haute, taking sixth place, on Tuesday afternoon.
The Broncos combined to shoot a 307, a full 19 shots lower than their first round total, to finish at 633 (+57) and just six strokes outside of the top five. Northern Iowa won the tournament after finishing with a 597 (+21).
Senior
Cameryn Lucia was WMU's top finisher on the day, tying for 15th place with a 36-hole total of 155 (+11). Lucia opened the tournament with an 80 but took five shots off that today with a 75. Junior
Imogen Courtney also saw a big improvement from her opening round after taking five strokes off to finish with a 77 and a total of 159 (+15). Sophomore
Alissa Fish also took five strokes off of her previous round score to finish with a 161 (+17) after shooting a final round of 77. Junior
Brooke Gibbons took 10 shots off of her first round to finish with a 164 (+20) after shooting a final round of 77, while
Fiona Khaing also finished with a 164. Freshman
Ella Hoffman-Dick rounded out WMU's day with a 174 (+30).
Western Michigan has a short turnaround and heads to Bowling Green for the annual Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
