SILVER LAKE, Ohio – The Western Michigan golf team wrapped up the first two rounds of the 2021 Mid-American Conference Championship at Silver Lake Country Club on Friday evening.
The Broncos sit tied for eighth place with Bowling Green with a 36-hole combined score of 659 (+83). Kent State leads the tournament with a score of 582 (-2).
Junior
Brooke Gibbons was WMU's top finisher on the day, tying for 32nd place with a score of 163 (+19). She opened the tournament with a 78 but shot an 85 in the second round.
Fiona Khaing sits just behind her with a score of 164 (+20) after shooting an 80 and an 84 on the day. Senior
Cameryn Lucia started out with an 86 but rallied in the second round to shoot an 80 and currently sits with a score of 166 (+22). Sophomore
Alissa Fish is right behind her after shooting a 167 (+23), with an 80 and an 87 on the day. Junior
Imogen Courtney rounded out the field for WMU with a 172 (+28).
Kent State's Caley McGinty and Emily Price are tied for the individual lead at 142 (-2).
Play for the final round begins on Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.
