Women's Soccer Travels to Eastern Michigan on Sunday

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's soccer team heads on the road to battle Eastern MIchigan on Sunday at 1 p.m. at St. Joe's Sports Dome in Livonia, Mich. 

Due to the indoor location of the game, no spectators will be allowed. 

After starting off the season 2-0, the Broncos are on a three-game winless streak going 0-1-2. Last week WMU dropped its first game of the season, falling at Central Michigan 2-0. WMU battled Toledo to a 1-1 tie. 

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
WMU hosted Eastern Michigan back on March 7 at Waldo Stadium, defeating the Eagles 4-0. All four goals came in the second half, with Suzuna Shibukawa and Kayla Whelchel each scoring twice. 

Since the loss to Western Michigan, EMU has posted a 2-1 record and heads into Sunday 3-2 on the season. The Eagles defeated NIU, 3-0, on the road and Toledo, 3-2, on at home before falling to Ball State at home. EMU is 2-1 at home this season. Redshirt senior Sabrina McNeill leads the team in goals scored, netting five of the team's nine on the season. No other player has more than one goal so far on the season. Senior Chelsea Abbotts has played all five games in net for EMU, making 18 saves and recording one shutout. 

HOMESTAND
Western Michigan returns home next Thursday to kick off a three-game homestand. The Broncos host Northern Illinois at 2 p.m. and then welcome Ball State to the WMU Soccer Complex on Sunday at 2 p.m. Sunday's game will also be WMU's annual Senior Day. The Broncos then wrap up their regular season home schedule on Thursday, April 8 at 4 p.m. against Central Michigan.
