AKRON, Ohio -- The Western Michigan track and field team capped off the 17th annual Akron Invitational with a pair of personal-best marks on Saturday afternoon at Stile Field House.
Rebecca McNamee set a new best mark in the 800-meter run. The senior ran a time of 2:13.92 and took third place. Also picking up a new personal-best time in the event was freshman
Emma Pachay with a time of 2:25.69.Â
"Rebecca has truly shown her range as a distance athlete," said head coach
Makiba Batten. "She has carried her success from cross country into this indoor season. Let's continue the momentum as we move closer to the MAC Championship."
McNamee's time in the 800 moves her up to fourth on the MAC Indoor Performance List. She also holds the six spot in the mile run.Â
Western Michigan heads back to Grand Valley State next week for the annual Friday and Saturday GVSU Big Meet.Â
