CLEVELAND – For the fifth time this season, Western Michigan University sophomore setter
Logan Case has been selected as the MAC West Setter of the Week, the Mid-American Conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Case handed out a total of 100 assists (14.29/set) while helping the Broncos hit .286 as a team over the weekend in a pair of wins over Akron. The sophomore also chipped in 18 digs (4.50/set) in the two contests.
In Friday's series-opening victory over the Zips, Case totaled 55 assists as Western Michigan hit .312 for the evening, the sixth time this season the Broncos have hit over .300 in a match. The Maineville, Ohio, native followed that up with 45 more helpers the next day as WMU downed the Zips in three sets.
Case leads the MAC in both total assists (1181) and assists/set (11.69), while her 11.69 assists/set average ranks third in the country. In conference play, the sophomore has taken her game up another notch, as she's averaging a league-best 11.98 assists/set.
WMU closes out the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 17, with a trip to Northern Illinois. First serve between the Broncos and Huskies is set for 7 pm.
