Hockey Moves up to 16 in USCHO.com Poll

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey team jumped two spots to No. 16 in the most recent US College Hockey Online Poll on Monday afternoon.

The Broncos (2-0-0) were 19th last week's poll and were on a bye week over the weekend. The new poll also officially pits WMU against the new No. 1 team in the nation, the University of Michigan, in a home-and-home series this weekend. Western Michigan travels to Ann Arbor to take on the Wolverines on Friday at 7:30 p.m. before hosting UM on Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets for the home game are very limited. For more information visit www.wmubroncos.com/tickets or by calling 1-888-4-WMUTIX.

The USCHO.com Poll consists of 40 voters, including coaches and beat writers and sports professionals from across the country. The poll is a production of USCHO.com, which provides in-depth coverage of college hockey.

Western Michigan also improved its standing in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll, now receiving the most points in the poll outside of the official top 15.
