KALAMAZOO, Mich. – On Wednesday Western Michigan baseball outfielder
Blake Dunn was named one of the top 150 college prospects for the 2021 season by
D1Baseball.
Dunn ranked as the 93
rd best college prospect for the 2021 season, the highest by a player from the Mid-American Conference. Dunn was one of just two players from the MAC to be named to the list.
Prior to the 2020 season Dunn was named one of the top 150 hitters in college baseball according to
D1Baseball analytics. Dunn was also one of 55 players named to the preseason Golden Spikes Award watch list which is given annually to the top amateur baseball player in the country.
Before the 2020 MLB Draft, Dunn was named one of the top five athletes at the collegiate level according to
Baseball America. Per MLB scouting departments, Dunn ranked as the second best athlete at the collegiate level.
During his junior campaign that was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dunn recorded a .288 batting average and led the Broncos in home runs (2), RBIs (17) and stolen bases (11). In 15 games, Dunn ranked 10
th in the NCAA in stolen bases and eighth in stolen bases per game (0.73).
For his career Dunn has a .338 batting average with 22 doubles, seven home runs and 64 RBIs. Dunn has a .460 career slugging percentage and a .423 on-base percentage in 108 career games. The Saugatuck, Mich., native's 47 career stolen bases is tied for the fourth most in program history.
