KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Nearing the conclusion of the summer, thirteen Western Michigan baseball student-athletes continue to excel on the diamond in the Midwest Collegiate and Northwoods League.
The Broncos have 10 players competing in the Michigan South Pod of the Northwoods League with the Kalamazoo Growlers, Mac Daddies and Battle Creek Bombers each having just over a week left in the regular season. Three Broncos completed their season last week in the Midwest Collegiate League.

NORTHWOODS LEAGUE
Kalamazoo Growlers (38-23-6)
Blake Dunn – (.338 Avg. / 43 R / 3 HR / 16 RBI / 30 stolen bases
Currently leading the Michigan South Pod in batting average, runs, hits, triples and stolen bases. Dunn ranks second in the pod in home runs and doubles (8).
Max Huntley – (7 games played / 4 R / 1 BB / .273 OBP)
Has played in seven games for the Growlers, registering at least one run scored in four.
Will Morrison – (47 games played / 14 R / 1 HR / 12 RBI / 6 stolen bases)
Ranks fifth on the team in runs scored while ranking third on the Growlers and sixth in the Michigan South Pod with 19 walks.
Will Mullen – (16 app. / 1-1 / 2 saves / 18.2 IP / 19 strikeouts)
Mullen's 16 appearances ranks third on the Growlers and in the Michigan South Pod. On August 1 against the Battle Creek Bombers, Mullen posted a season-high five strikeouts in two innings to earn his second save of the season.
Battle Creek Bombers (29-38-4)
Josh Swinehart – (56 games / 13 R / 4 doubles / 2 HR / 8 RBI)
Swinehart ranks tied for third on the on the bombers with four doubles. Registered one walk and one RBI in a 5-4 victory over the Kalamazoo Mac Daddies back on Aug. 21.
Drew Szczepaniak – (12 app. / 3-2 / 1,74 ERA / 20.2 IP / 20 strikeouts)
Has the second lowest ERA amongst pitchers on the Battle Creek bombers with at least 10 appearances. Struck out two while allowing just one earned run in four innings against the Kalamazoo Mac Daddies on Aug. 19.
Kalamazoo Mac Daddies (29-36-4)
Dane Armbrustmacher – (12 app. / 3-2 / 1.27 ERA / 35.1 IP / 30 strikeouts)
Leads the Mac Daddies with a 1.27 ERA (minimum. 20 IP) while his three victories on the mound is tied for the team lead. In his last outing on August 27, Armbrustmacher went three innings, allowing one earned run with five strikeouts.
Gavin Doyle – (.267 avg. / 6 R / 1 triple / 8 RBIs / .333 slugging percentage)
One of just four players on the Kalamazoo Mac Daddies to have registered at least one triple. Ranks fifth on the team in slugging percentage.
Easton Sikorski - (6 app. / 2-1 / 14.2 IP / 9 strikeouts)
Ranks second on the Mac Daddies in wins. In his last start against the Kalamazoo Growlers went four innings, allowing only four hits and striking out four.
Jack Huisman – (11 app. / 1-0 / 2 saves / 25.1 IP / 18 strikeouts)
Huisman ranks second on the team in saves and fourth on the Mac Daddies in innings pitched. In his last outing on Aug. 27, Huisman pitched three scoreless innings while striking out four.
