2023: Academic All-MAC … Made 13 appearances on the mound, including three starts … Totaled 12 strikeouts across 16.1 innings … Held opponents to a .255 batting average overall and to one or zero hits in 10 of 13 outings … Took the ball for his first start of the season at Michigan … Tossed a career-high tying 3.0 innings and struck out a season-high three in a start at Eastern Michigan on April 12 … Recorded a strikeout to end the game and earn a save in WMU’s sweep-clinching victory at Toledo on April 30.

2020: Appeared in four games ... Pitched 2.1 innings ... Registered three strikeouts ... Worked a scoreless inning with three strikeouts at Alabama A&M ... Season canceled after 15 games due to COVID-19 pandemic.

2019: Appeared in 10 games, including four starts ... Tossed 15.2 innings and had 17 strikeouts ... Recorded a strikeout in nine of his 10 appearances ... Collected a career-high four strikeouts in 2.0 innings at Butler ... Earned first collegiate victory, throwing 3.0 innings and allowing two runs on eight hits at Notre Dame. 

High School: Three-year varsity starter and letterwinner for coach Corey Farner at Woodhaven HS … During senior campaign, had a 10-1 record with 120 strikeouts and a 1.18 ERA in 70.0 innings of work ... In 2018, was named First Team All-State, District, League and Region  ... Won back-to-back Downriver Conference Championships ... Was voted team pitching MVP in 2016 and overall team MVP in 2017 … Led team in victories with eight and shutouts with five in both 2016 and 2017 seasons ... Holds top two ERAs in a season (0.25 in 2017 and 0.66 in 2016) in school history ... Personal: Son of Jodi and Matt Szczepaniak ... Brothers are John (current WMU student) and Ryan, who is a pitcher on the Michigan State baseball team ... Uncle, Kerin Jenkins, was drafted by the Seattle Mariners ... Graduated from WMU in April of 2023 with a degree in Criminal Justice.
