Brendan Skinner and Caden Jackman Named Men’s Soccer Captains

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan men's soccer head coach Chad Wiseman announced Monday that the team's two captains for the 2020 campaign will be senior defender Brendan Skinner and junior midfielder Caden Jackman.

"I'm really looking forward to the 2020 season," Wiseman said. "Coronavirus has changed so much of our spring season, but Brendan and Caden have really stepped up while we have been away. I look forward to getting our group back together again and having Brendan and Caden lead the way."

Skinner is a two-time Academic All-Mid-American Conference selection in his two years with the program following his transfer from Marquette University. Skinner started all 19 matches in 2019 and played 1,645 minutes. He helped the WMU defense hold opponents to just 21 goals. He attempted seven total shots with four on goal.

Jackman was also an Academic All-MAC selection in 2019, when he appeared in 18 matches and started 12. He took six shots on the season with one on goal, against Loyola Marymount. He collected an assist in the Broncos' 3-1 victory against West Virginia.

"Brendan and Caden are great Broncos, who are dedicated in the classroom and with the team," Wiseman said. "It will be an unprecedented start to the 2020 season when we get to head back to campus, but I am confident we have two solid leaders in place to help us."
