Hockey Ranked 15th in USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey team heads into the final week of the regular season ranked No. 15 in the nation in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll.

WMU is down one spot after pushing No. 1 North Dakota to its limit over the weekend, falling 3-1 on Friday and 2-1 in overtime on Saturday.

The 25th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey.

The Broncos also come in at No. 16 in the US College Hockey Online poll.

The USCHO.com Poll consists of 50 voters, including coaches and beat writers and sports professionals from across the country. The poll, published weekly by the Associated Press, is a production of USCHO.com, which provides in-depth coverage of college hockey.

WMU has spent 15 weeks this season in the national rankings.

Western Michigan closes out the regular season hosting conference rival Miami on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Fans are encouraged to get to Saturday's game early to help celebrate WMU's senior class. Tickets for both games are available at www.wmubroncos.com/tickets and by calling 1-888-4-WMUTIX.
