Hugh McGing Named First Team All-NCHC

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Michigan senior forward Hugh McGing has been named First Team All-National Collegiate Hockey Conference, as voted upon by the league's coaches and media.

McGing becomes the first player in program history to earn All-NCHC honors twice after being voted Second Team All-NCHC last season. He is also the first player in program history to earn a spot on the first team.

The Chicago, Ill., native played in 23 of the 24 conference games this season, leading the team with 22 points on nine goals and 13 assists. Three of his nine goals went for game-winners. The team's captain also finished the conference season with a plus/minus of +10. The St. Louis Blues' draft pick was counted on by the Broncos to play in all situations, seeing ice time on the power play and the penalty kill this season.

The Broncos are back in action this weekend hosting St. Cloud State in the NCHC Quarterfinals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (if necessary) at 7:05 p.m. WMU students get in free with valid student ID. Tickets are available by calling 1-888-4-WMUTIX and online at www.wmubroncos.com/tickets.
