CLEVELAND – Western Michigan baseball sophomore RHP
Easton Sikorski has been named Mid-American Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
In game one of last Saturday's doubleheader at Alabama A&M, Sikorski made his second career start and picked up his second career victory in 12-0 win for the Broncos. Sikorski pitched a career-high eight innings, allowing no runs on two hits while strikeout out a career-high 10.
Sikorski's 10 strikeouts were the most by a Bronco pitcher since
Nic Laio had 10 back on April 27, 2018 versus Eastern Michigan. Sikorski shared the pitcher of the week honors with Kent State's Ryan Lane.
Sikorski improved his overall record to 2-0 on the season and in his first start guided WMU to an 8-5 victory over USC. Sikorski became the first Bronco pitcher to earn a win over a Pac-12 school since 1989. In 14 innings this season Sikorski leads with a stellar 0.64 ERA to go along with 12 strikeouts.
