Golf Announces Signing of Madeline Blum

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan golf team and head coach Kim Moore are proud to announce the signing of Madeline Blum to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.

Blum is a three-time All-State selection out of Marysville High School, where she helped her school to three district championships, three county championships and a regional championship in 2019. She was named her team MVP every season and qualified for the state finals as an individual all four years. The Port Huron, Mich., native's highest finish in the Michigan High School Athletic Association State Championships was fourth, during 2019.

"I am so excited to be adding Maddy to our program," said Moore. "She will add exceptional playing experience and a great competitiveness that is only going to help us achieve our championship goals. She has a passion for the game and a great work ethic that will fit right in with the culture that is being created. I have no doubt she will be successful here at Western Michigan and I can't wait to see her as a Bronco!"

Blum, who was also a member of the Academic All-State Team, was a two-time country first place medalist and a two-time district first place medalist.

"I chose Western Michigan because I was given the opportunity to play the game I love," said Blum. "Not only will I be able to compete, but I will have plenty of resources to excel in the classroom. I am very excited to develop and grow with my sport and work towards earning a degree. I am very grateful to have the opportunity. I cannot wait to get started with Coach Moore and my new teammates. Go Broncos!"
