CHARLESTON, S.C. – Western Michigan football redshirt sophomore quarterback
Kaleb Eleby was named Tuesday to the College Football Performance Awards National Performer of the Year Watch List.
Eleby has led the Broncos to a perfect 4-0 record by completing 62.9 percent of his passes for 1,138 yards and 12 touchdowns. Eleby leads the nation in yards per completion (20.32) and yards per pass attempts (12.79). The Maryland, Heights, Mo., native also ranks second in the MAC in both yards and touchdowns.
The redshirt sophomore quarterback has thrown for over 200 yards in every game this season including a career-high 382-yard performance with five touchdowns against in-state rival Central Michigan. Eleby leads the Mid-American Conference and the nation in passing efficiency at 212.6.
The 2020 CFPA National Performer of the Year Trophy is a 22-inch K-9 optic crystal tower with eight-inch crystal football on top. The 2020 CFPA National Performer of the Year will be announced January 14, 2021.
