Vote Now for Hugh McGing and Paul Washe for the Hobey Baker Award

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Western Michigan hockey's Hugh McGing and Paul Washe have been nominated for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award fan vote.

The pair are among the 78 NCAA Division I men's players nominated for the prestigious award. Fans can vote now at HobeyBaker.com/vote. When voting for the Hobey Baker Award, fans are asked to make sure to keep in mind the qualities that a nominee must display: Exhibit strength and character, both on and off the ice; Contribute to the integrity of the team; Display outstanding skills in all phases of the game; Show scholastic achievement and sportsmanship.

McGing, a senior forward, was selected as the team's captain for the season. The Chicago, Ill., native leads the team with 17 points on four goals and 13 assists through 21 games. The St. Louis Blues' draft pick also leads the team in plus/minus at +8. After the weekend sweep of Colorado College, he has appeared in 133 career games for the Broncos, recording 99 points on 37 goals and 62 assists.

Washe, a junior forward, is in the midst of a career-best season with Western Michigan. The Clarkston, Mich. Native has 16 points on a team-high eight goals and eight assists in 22 games. Washe had just 19 points in his first two seasons at WMU and has now reached new career highs in every offensive category halfway through the season.
