Men’s Basketball to Play in NIT Season Tip-Off in Orlando

BROOKLYN –  The Western Michigan men's basketball team announced on Thursday that it will take part in the 2019 NIT Season Tip-Off Orlando Bracket, Nov. 25-26 at HP Field House at ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex.

The Broncos along with Ivy League co-champion Yale, Patriot League co-champion Bucknell and Seattle University will compete for the NIT Season Tip-Off Orlando Subregional championship, Nov. 25-26.

Western Michigan will begin the tournament on Monday, Nov. 25 with a match-up against NCAA Tournament participant Yale. The Bulldogs last season went 22-8, 10-4 in Ivy League play and was a No.14 seed in the NCAA Tournament, falling to LSU in the first round, 79-74.

Following its game against Yale, the Broncos will square off with Bucknell or Seattle on Tuesday, Nov. 26. All games will be broadcasted on ESPNU.

Along with the two-day tournament at ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex, WMU will play a pair of non-bracketed games against two Power Five opponents. For the second year in a row the Brown & Gold will square off with the University of Mississippi on Friday, Nov. 15 before challenging Oklahoma State for the first time in school history on Friday, Nov. 22.  

Times of each game of the NIT Season Tip-Off will be announced at a later date. The NIT Season Tip-Off is one of 11 college basketball events owned and operated by ESPN Events, a division of ESPN.
