CLEVELAND – Five student-athletes from the Western Michigan men's tennis team have earned Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors, as released by the Conference office on Tuesday.

Senior co-captain Lenhard Haupt (3.97 GPA, finance), junior Kennosuke Nouchi (3.57, management), junior co-captain Jannik Opitz (4.00, accountancy), senior Nick Schnobel (3.23, mechanical engineering), and senior Matej Svjetlicic (3.26, integrated supply management) were all honored for their prowess on the court and in the classroom.

Nominees must have a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade point average to be eligible for the team.

Opitz and Nouchi earn the honors for the second time in their careers, both repeats from last season. Haupt, Schnobel and Svjetlicic all earn the honors for the first time in their careers. Both Opitz and Haupt were recently named Google Cloud CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District selections. The group helped lead to MAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
