Golf Takes Sixth at Dolores Black Falcon Invitational

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Western Michigan golf team wrapped up the 2019 Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, taking sixth place at the Stone Ridge Golf Club on Sunday.

WMU finished with a 624 (+48) after shooting a second round of 314. The Broncos finished ahead of Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Illinois-Chicago and Chicago State. Oakland University won the tournament with a 592 (+16).

Junior Jasmine Chee and senior Claire Hernandez were WMU's top finishers. Both shot a 153 (+9) after shooting identical first rounds of 77 and second rounds of 76. Chee finished tied for the tournament lead in pars with 27, while Hernandez had 24 to go along with three birdies.

Freshman Fiona Wang finished tied for 22nd with a 155 (+11), while Cameryn Lucia finished with a 164 (+20) and freshman Brooke Gibbons finished with a 166 (+22).

The Broncos have a week off before heading to Noblesville, Ind., for the 2019 Mid-American Conference Championship April 19-21.
