Golf Sits Tied for Sixth at the Dolores Black Falcon Invite

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Freshman Fiona Wang sits tied for eighth place after the opening round of the Dolores Black Flacon Invitational at Bowling Green's Stone Ridge Golf Club on Saturday.

Wang shot a 75 (+3) to lead the Broncos, who sit tied for sixth place with a score of 310 (+22). Oakland leads the tournament after shooting a combined score of 295 (+7). Ohio sits in second place at 298 (+10), followed by Eastern Michigan, Cleveland State and BGSU. The Broncos are tied with Central Michigan and sit ahead of Detroit Mercy, Illinois-Chicago and Chicago State.

Wang shot 13 pars, tied for fifth-most in the tournament, on the day to go with one birdie.

Junior Jasmine Chee and senior Claire Hernandez are both tied for 19th, sitting just two strokes back of Wang after shooting 77's (+5). Sophomore Cameryn Lucia shot an 81, while freshman Brooke Gibbons shot an 84 to round out the field for the Broncos.

The final round begins on Sunday morning.
