Men's Ice Hockey | March 05, 2019
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team spends its ninth-straight week ranked in the nation's top 15, coming in at 12th in the US College Hockey Online and 13th in the USA Today/USA Magazine polls.
WMU suffered a pair of losses to No. 1 St. Cloud State over the weekend and heads to Miami to close out the 2018-19 regular season on Friday and Saturday.
The Broncos currently sit in fourth place in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference with 35 points. Western Michigan is in position to host in the NCHC Quarterfinals and can clinch home ice in a few ways. If the Broncos pick up two points in the series against the RedHawks or if North Dakota fails to get at least five points in its series against Omaha, WMU will host.
The NCHC Quarterfinals are March 15, 16 and 17 (if necessary) and would be at 7:05 p.m. if WMU hosts.
