KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team held steady at No. 17 in the US College Hockey Online poll coming off a bye week.
The Broncos (7-5-2, 3-2-1-1 NCHC) had the Thanksgiving weekend off after splitting at No. 4 Denver.
The USCHO.com Poll consists of 50 voters, including coaches and beat writers and sports professionals from across the country. The poll, published weekly by the Associated Press, is a production of USCHO.com, which provides in-depth coverage of college hockey.
This is the eight week this season that Western Michigan has appeared in the top 20, with WMU also receiving votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.
The Broncos will battle a top-four team for the second straight series, welcoming No. 3 North Dakota on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m. UND currently sits atop of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference standings, with Western Michigan sitting in third.
