Hockey Heads to Break Ranked 19th

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team heads into the semester break ranked No. 19 in the US College Hockey Online Poll released on Monday.

The Broncos (7-7-2, 3-4-1-1 NCHC) suffered a sweep to No. 2 North Dakota last weekend but remain in the national rankings for the ninth week this season.

The USCHO.com Poll consists of 50 voters, including coaches and beat writers and sports professionals from across the country. The poll, published weekly by the Associated Press, is a production of USCHO.com, which provides in-depth coverage of college hockey.

Western Michigan returns to action on Friday, Jan. 3 at No. 15 Notre Dame. WMU returns home to host the Fighting Irish on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 5 p.m. Tickets for the UND game are available now at ww.wmubroncos.com/tickets and by calling 1-888-4-WMUTIX.
