KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's soccer team continues its road trek, heading to Miami on Thursday before hosting Ball State on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the WMU Soccer Complex.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
The Broncos will play their third consecutive Mid-American Conference road game on Thursday. Last weekend WMU split at Central Michigan and at Eastern Michigan. They snapped CMU's seven-game unbeaten streak with a 1-0 win before falling 3-2 at EMU. WMU is 2-3-0 on the road this season and both wins were 1-0 shutout wins at Cincinnati and the Chippewas.

Sophomore forward Morgan Otteson is having herself quite the season. With six goals and three assists, she's far eclipsed her offensive output last season and her 15 points leads the team. Her six goals lead the MAC overall and her four goals in MAC play rank her tied for first in conference play. Her 15 points also top the MAC overall and her eight in conference play also rank her tied for first.
Senior forward Grace Labadie has three assists in MAC play, tying her for the conference lead.
SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
Miami (3-8-0, 2-2-0 MAC) had just one win enter MAC play and has split in the opening two weekends, winning at home against Eastern Michigan before losing to Central Michigan, and winning at Buffalo before losing at Akron. The 3-1 win over the Eagles was a season-high goal output for the team, who has been shutout seven times this season.
Senior midfielder Olivia Winnett leads the team with three goals, with two of them coming in conference play. Sophomore Lydia Bogdanovitch is the only other player with more than one goal, tallying twice and adding and assist on the season for five points. Sophomore midfielder Jordan King and freshman defender Bronwen Sears are tied for the team lead in assists with two each. Sophomore Izzie Vaccari has started 10 of the team's 11 games, posting a 3-6-0 record, making 64 saves.
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
Ball State (9-3-0, 3-1-0 MAC) sit tied for second in the MAC with nine points and travel to Northern Illinois on Thursday before heading to Kalamazoo on Sunday. In conference play the Cardinals have wins over Eastern Michigan, Akron and Buffalo, with the lone loss coming against Central Michigan.
BSU has pumped in 22 goals on the season, second-most by any MAC team. Junior Midfielder Nicky Potts and sophomore defender Grace Alsop are tied for the team lead with four goals, while Potts has two assists for a team-high 10 points. Sophomore midfielder Tatiana Mason leads the team with five assists and has also netted two goals on the season. Graduate transfer Tristin Stuteville has started 11 of the team's 12 games in net this season, posting an 8-3-0 record with seven shutouts and 44 total saves.
ON THE HORIZON
After the BSU game, the Broncos head back out on the road for the Akron/Buffalo swing. WMU takes on the Zips on Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. and then is at the Bulls on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. Western Michigan return home on Thursday, Oct. 24 to host Toledo and then welcomes Bowling Green on Sunday, Oct. 27 for Senior Day.
