CLEVELAND, Ohio - Senior midfielder
Anthony Bowie was named Player of the Week by the Mid-American Conference for the second time this season, it was announced Tuesday.
Bowie scored a pair of game-winning goals for the Broncos last week, which included a 1-0 victory over nationally ranked Loyola Marymount on Sunday at the WMU Soccer Complex. Western Michigan also defeated Xavier on the road by the same score last Tuesday evening.
The native of Grand Rapids leads his team with five goals and 12 points on the season. This is the third time that Anthony has earned this accolade in his career, as he was first named MAC Player of the Week as a freshman.
Bowie also collected National Team of the Week honors by both Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News for his efforts.
The Broncos will take on Oakland for an in-state road contest tomorrow night in Rochester.
