Men's Tennis Goes Undefeated on Last Day of Home Invite

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan men's tennis team welcomed four schools to Kalamazoo for the 2019 WMU Vredevelt Invite this weekend.

On Friday, junior Zac Faveri and sophomore Jack Randall went 2-0 together in doubles, posting wins against two different teams from Notre Dame. The freshmen duo of Arjun Honnappa and Rodrigo Crespo finished doubles play with a 7-5 victory yesterday over Braeden Ho and Matthew Halpin, who also represented the Fighting Irish. Western Michigan finished 4-2 in doubles competition as a team at the Sorensen Courts.

Randall, Crespo and Honnappa all went 2-2 in singles play, while Faveri finished the tournament strong, picking up a win against Aleksa Lazarevic of Illinois State in straight sets this morning. All four Broncos won their final individual match at the West Hills Athletic Club on Sunday.

Johan Hedstrom from Illinois Chicago was joined on the all-tournament team by Connor Fu and Johnathan of Notre Dame. Fu and Small were the only players that went 4-0 in singles action over the weekend.

Western Michigan will next host the MAC Invite, which will begin play on Friday, November 8.
