Three Broncos Set to Compete at ITA All-American Event

KALAMAZOO, Mich - Senior Jannik Opitz, sophomore Peter Kuszynski and senior Kennosuke Nouchi have been selected to compete at the 2019 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.

Kuszynski and Nouchi will compete with 254 other student-athletes in the pre-qualifying round this Saturday and Sunday. The top 16 from that stage will advance to the qualifying round, which will occur on Monday and Tuesday.

Opitz automatically advanced to the qualifying round and will have to win at least three contests to make it into the main draw of 64 players, which will get underway on Wednesday.

The nationally ranked team of Opitz and Nouchi will compete in the doubles qualifying round next week at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Jannik took part in the ITA Oracle Masters last weekend in Malibu, Calif., defeating #66 nationally ranked Olivier Stuart from Mercer in singles play.

Kennosuke has earned a perfect doubles record of 6-0 through two fall tournaments with two different partners for the Broncos.

Peter has started his fall singles season undefeated in seven matches, dropping just three sets in the process.
