KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's soccer team (2-4) is set to travel to Cincinnati, Ohio Wednesday, Sept. 12 for a match against the University of Cincinnati. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Gettler Stadium.Â

The Broncos, who went scoreless in three consecutive games, turned in their second-straight game with two goals scored on Sunday, Sept. 9 en route to a 2-1 victory over Drake University at WMU Soccer Complex. Western Michigan used a goal in each half while owning a 12-7 shot advantage, including a season-high seven on target, as well as a 9-3 margin in corner kicks over the Bulldogs.Â

Series History
Wednesday's match will mark the seventh all-time meeting between the Western Michigan and Cincinnati men's soccer programs, with the series knotted at 3-3. The Broncos have won the past two matchups. Last season, WMU defeated the Bearcats in Kalamazoo, prevailing 2-0 with goals from
Brandon Bye and Bowie while the Brown & Gold outshot Cincinnati 21-5.

The Bearcats (1-4) are looking to break a two-game losing streak, most recently falling 3-1 at Xavier University Sept. 7. Cincinnati's sole victory of the season came on Aug. 31 versus Cleveland State University, a 2-0 triumph. Selected to finish seventh in the AAC preseason coaches' poll, Cincinnati finished with a 7-9-1 overall record in 2017. Six different Bearcats share the team scoring lead this season, with five separate goal scorers.

- The Broncos' season-opening 2-0 win over Loyola Chicago Aug. 24 marked the fourth-straight season-opening victory for Western Michigan.
- The shutout loss at DePaul Aug. 27Â marked the first time Western Michigan was held scoreless since a 1-0 loss against No. 6 Michigan State Oct. 4, 2017. It was also the first loss against the Blue Demons in the all-time series.Â
- In his third start of the season in net, Lukas Von Lienen earned his first win as a Bronco.
- Donovan Michael broke the WMU three-game scoring drought at Michigan Sept. 7, his first collegiate goal. He then added his first collegiate assist against Drake.
- In his first collegiate appearance, freshman Zack Shane recorded an assist at Michigan.
- Kosti Moni notched his team-leading second goal of the season, the game-winner, in the Drake victory. The goal stands as his sixth career game-winning tally.
